U.S. President Donald Trump met with his national security team on Thursday to discuss whether the United States should resume military operations against Iran, according to senior officials who spoke to Fox News.

The officials confirmed that meetings on Iran were held at the White House on both Wednesday and Thursday, as the administration considers its next steps in the ongoing conflict.

According to the officials, November 9 will bring a new moon in the Middle East, resulting in little to no moonlight—a condition they described as potentially favorable for military operations.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday, Trump said Washington would make a decision soon on whether to resume the war.
“Do we want to go further” with strikes to ensure that Iran’s nuclear program is destroyed and “it will never happen again?” Trump asked.

“I would rather not destroy the rest of the country if possible, but maybe I will have to. You’ll know soon enough,” he added.

CENTCOM Preparing for Possible Renewed Operations
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) is finalizing preparations for a possible resumption of major military operations against Iran, according to reports cited by Fox News.
However, a U.S. official told Axios that CENTCOM has not received any new directive from Washington authorizing a return to large-scale strikes.
The preparations indicate that military options are being considered, but no final decision to resume major operations has been announced.
